Books and interest in literature
To find out just how interested Czechs are in books, I visited one of the biggest and most recently opened bookshops in Prague, where I talked to its owner Jan Kanzelsberger. The store is the latest addition to the Kanzelsberger chain of bookshops and its owner told me they were doing quite well. There are, of course, exceptions. Even while Mr. Kanzelsberger was showing me around the bookshop, two girls came in to ask when the third Harry Potter book would be on the market. The latest translation will be available in a month or two, they were told. Now, foreign language books are available in a special department of the bookshop, quite a huge department.
