Radio Prague launches Russian service
Some important news for all our listeners in the Former Soviet Union. At the end of this month, Radio Prague will begin broadcasting once again in the Russian language. The Russian service of Czech Radio was discontinued shortly after the Velvet Revolution of 1989, as the country clamoured to sever many of its traditional links with the Soviet Union.
Now it's back again, and we spoke to one of the members of the new Russian service, Alla Vetrovcova, and firstly the General Director of RP, Miroslav Krupicka. Why choose to re-introduce the service now, eleven years on? Radio Prague launches it's new Russian broadcast on Sunday 29th October and you can check out all frequency information on our website.
