Sport now, of course, and the big news in the tennis world this week is the comeback of the former Czech star Petr Korda to the ATP circuit. The former World number two retired from tennis after being banned from the game for a year for testing positive for nandralone back in 1998. At 32 years old, his decision to compete in the ATP Challenger event in Prague in early December has raised more than a few eyebrows. Earlier on I spoke to one man who knows Korda very well, the former captain of the Czech Davis Cup team, Jan Kodes: And I can't go, of course, without mentioning the International Amateur Athletics Federation's decision to posthumously award the Czech Olympic legend, Emil Zatopek, their Golden Order of Merit. In a statement the IAAF's ruling body said it was "in recognition of his outstanding achievements in athletics and the inspirational example he offered to the youth of the world."
The award will be presented by the president of the Federation, Lamine Diack, to Zatopek's widow Dana, at the funeral in Prague next week.
