New record 67,000 Covid cases registered in CR Tuesday
Just under 67,000 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Czech Republic on Tuesday. This is the highest figure for a single day since the pandemic began. There were 57,195 first-time infections and 9,775 re-infections.
The Czech minister of health, Vlastimil Válek, says he expects the current Covid wave to peak this week. Domestic testing specialists Diana Biotechnologies say figures ought to culminate between February 3 and 10.
There were 2,653 Covid patients in the country’s hospitals on Tuesday, with around 200 in a critical condition.
