New Nicholas Winton biopic to premiere in Toronto
One Life, a new biographical film about Sir Nicholas Winton directed by James Hawes and starring Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday.
On the eve of World War II Winton saved the lives of 669 mainly Jewish Czechoslovak from the Holocaust by organising train transports out of Prague and securing places for them to stay in the United Kingdom.
Sir Nicholas, who was in his late 20s when he carried out his heroic deeds, is played in his younger years by another British actor, Johnny Flynn while Helena Bonham-Carter had joined the cast as Winton’s mother.
