New Covid cases up for eighth day in row

Some 209 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Friday, 38 more than the same day last week. Numbers compared to a week previously have been climbing for eight days in a row.

The reproduction number, which stands at 1.1, has been above 1.0 for a week.

Fifty-one people are currently hospitalised with the coronavirus; 14 are in a critical condition.
