National census: website crashes hours after launch
The 2021 Czech national census got underway at midnight Saturday. However, the electronic census had to be shut down in the morning due to overloading of the server, the Czech Statistics Office informed on its Twitter account.
Czech citizens and foreigners with permanent residency or living here for more than 90 days as of the start date must complete the survey by May 11 or face a fine of up to 10,000 crowns. The deadline for submitting online forms is April 9.
According to the Czech Statistics Office, more than two-thirds of people are expected to use the online census form.
