Museum documenting history of Lennon Wall opens in Lesser Quarter
A museum documenting the history of the Lennon Wall in Prague opened to the public in Prague’s Lesser Quarter of Friday, July 23. Titled - The Lennon Wall Story – the museum is located in the basement below Napa bar in Malá Strana, and will be open to visitors on Fridays and weekends. The exhibition presents dozens of period photographs by famous as well as unknown authors, thematic publications, and a documentary film about the history of the Lennon Wall.
The Lennon Wall, which stands near the capital’s Kampa Park, became a famous symbol of unofficial anti-communist resistance during the 1980s and a popular tourist site after the fall of the Iron Curtain. Over the years it underwent many changes and was on several occasions vandalized by graffiti artists.
