MPs to vote on increasing 2022 state budget

Czech MPs are to vote on increasing this year’s state budget in a session that began on Tuesday afternoon. The bill envisages a deficit of up to CZK 375 billion, compared to the original plan of CZK 330 billion.

The government has proposed raising outgoings, revenues and the deficit due to the impacts of the war in Ukraine. Ministers say they also need to respond to the cost of dealing with sharp price rises.
