Most Czech elementary school pupils return to classrooms
After several weeks of distance learning, most elementary school pupils returned to their classrooms on Monday. Some secondary school students also went back in line with an easing of Covid-19 restrictions that was introduced in other areas a week ago. First and second grade elementary school pupils and those at special needs schools returned last Monday. From today they were joined by third, fourth, fifth and ninth grade pupils.
A further easing of measures aimed at containing the coronavirus will be implemented at Czech schools in a week’s time. Students at secondary schools, conservatories and higher vocational schools will from that date alternate in-person lessons with online ones on a weekly basis. First year students will also be allowed to return to universities, provided they are in groups of 20 or fewer.
