More pensions going abroad

The Czech Republic is paying out an increasing number of pensions to people abroad, according to statistics released by the Labour Ministry.

Over the last ten years, their number increased by about two thirds. Last year, the Czech Social Security Administration sent money abroad to about 98,300 pensioners, in 2010 it was about 59,600.

Most pensions went to the country’s former sister state Slovakia, over 35,300, followed by Germany, Poland, Canada, the USA, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, Greece and Bulgaria.
