Miroslav Kalousek “seriously considering” presidential run

Politician Miroslav Kalousek says he is seriously considering running for Czech president. Mr. Kalousek made the comment in an interview for Saturday’s edition of newspaper Právo, saying he would decide on whether to stand by the end of the winter.

The 60-year-old has twice served as minister of finance and founded the right-wing TOP 09 party after leaving the Christian Democrats. He quit as an MP at the start of this year.

The bookmakers’ favourite to succeed Milos Zeman as head of state is Andrej Babiš.
