Minister says lengthy meeting with Zeman associate “unplanned”

The Czech minister of justice, Pavel Blažek, spent five hours in a Prague restaurant on Wednesday evening with Martin Nejedlý, a controversial advisor to Miloš Zeman during the latter’s presidency. Mr. Blažek says the meeting, which was reported on by Seznam Zprávy, was unplanned and that he had been trying to take cover during a heavy storm.

Mr. Nejedlý received a diplomatic passport under Mr. Zeman, despite not having an official position, and worked for the Russian company Lukoil.
