Minister Lipavsky: EU needs to redefine relations with Russia

The European Union needs to redefine its relations with Moscow in the wake of the bloody war that Russia is waging in Ukraine, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said on Monday ahead of an EU foreign ministers meeting. Minister Lipavský said that in view of Russia's recent actions the principles on which the EU's approach to Russia is based no longer apply and the alliance needs to consider a new long-term strategy in dealing with the country. The ministers are expected to debate funding for additional arms purchases for Ukraine and new sanctions against Russia.
