Minister Lipavský:Czechia placing no restrictions on Ukraine's use of military equipment

Russia's imperialist ambitions have no limits, it is up to us to restrict them, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský  said in his speech at the Globsec security conference in Prague, warning that Putin’s victory in the war on Ukraine would present a serious security threat for Europe and would destabilize the continent.

The Czech foreign minister said his country does not place any restrictions on Ukraine's use of the military equipment that it supplies, but he emphasized that Czechia is not among the states providing long-range weapons and highly sophisticated weapon systems, so it is not faced with the dilemma of whether and how it should allow Ukraine to use them against Russia.

The EU diplomacy chief, Josep Borrell, said on Thursday that EU states must remove restrictions on the use of weapons provided to Ukraine. He said Ukrainians must be able to target places from where the Russians are bombing and shelling them. Speaking at Globsec, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen also argued for the lifting of restrictions, especially on long-range missiles.
