Minister for European Affairs: Czech Republic may organize EU summit with Ukraine
The Czech Republic may hold an EU summit with Ukraine or the Western Balkan countries during its EU presidency, according the minister for European affairs, Mikuláš Bek. Minister Bek said the Czech Republic would have to respond to current developments as regards the choice of topics, but five main priority areas were already evident: resolving the refugee crisis and post-war reconstruction in Ukraine, energy security, strengthening the EU's defence capabilities, the recovery of the European economy and the resilience of democratic institutions. The Czech EU presidency is due to begin in July of this year.
