Meteorologists extend fire warning to more Czech regions
The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute has extended the fire risk warning to the areas of Frýdlant, Liberec, Semily, and the north-west of the South Bohemian region, due to the ongoing drought. The warning now applies to most of the north-western part of the country, with the exception of the mountainous areas in north-eastern Bohemia. The warning is in effect until further notice.
A fire affecting approximately one hectare of forest in the Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area on Wednesday evening caused firemen to raise the second level of alarm out of a possible four.
