Medical faculties: students’ hospital work must be voluntary, adequately paid

The Association of Deans of Medical Faculties have called for university students in working in hospitals due to the coronavirus crisis to be adequately paid and to continue their studies.

In a statement issued on Monday the association also requested that students working in medical centres have priority vaccination against Covid-19, like other frontline medical personnel.

Currently, about 1,000 medical school students are helping out in hospitals and other medical centres, according to the deans, with more willing to volunteer under the aforementioned conditions.
