Media: Spain’s Denia in frame for Czech football coach job

Spanish coach Santi Denia is in the frame to become manager of the Czech international soccer team, the Spanish sports daily AS reported. Denia, who is 52, has led several Spain youth teams and trained the squad that won gold at the last Olympics.

The previous Czech manager, Miroslav Koubek, resigned after the team performed poorly at the World Cup in North America, picking up only one point in the group stage.

No foreigner has ever been hired as Czech national team coach.
