Mayors and Independents would support government in a no confidence vote
The Mayors and Independents of the ruling coalition will support the government in a possible vote of no confidence over the bitcoin case, the party’s MEP Jan Farský said on CNN Prima TV. Farsky said that leaving the government four months ahead of the fall elections would not be “right or responsible”. The main opposition party ANO previously announced it had collected enough signatures to initiate a vote of no confidence in the Fiala administration. For the cabinet to fall, at least 101 of the 200 MPs in the lower house would have to support the no confidence motion. The current governing coalition now has a majority of 104 votes and has so far withstood three attempts to topple it.
