Massive gas leak in Prague’s Nusle brought under control

Prague firefighters dealt with a major gas leak on Jaromírova Street in Nusle on Thursday morning, after a construction crew damaged a gas pipeline. All traffic in the area, including trams, had to be stopped for about an hour while the emergency services secured the area.

The leak was brought under control shortly after 9 a.m., and gas supplies to residents were not disrupted. In the end, it wasn’t necessary to evacuate people from nearby buildings.

Emergency gas technicians remain on site to check the pipeline.
