Martin Fuksa wins gold in 500m at Canoe Sprint World Championships

The Czech Republic’s Martin Fuksa won gold in the 500 metres event at the Canoe Sprint World Championships at the home venue of Račice, north Bohemia on Saturday.

The 29-year old finished ahead of the Olympic champion Isaquias Queiroz of Brazil.

It is the 12th victory in the series for Fuksa, who also has two World Championship titles and seven gold medals from the European Championships.
