Martin Dvořák accepts nomination as Czechia’s new Minister for European Affairs
Deputy Foreign Minister Martin Dvořák has accepted his nomination as Czechia’s next Minister for European Affairs, the Czech News Agency reported on Friday. Mr Dvořák, who has worked in diplomacy for nearly two decades, replaces Mikuláš Bek in the position. The latter has meanwhile been nominated by the Mayors and Independents party to replace Education Minister Vladimír Balaš, who on Thursday announced that he intends to resign due to health reasons.
All three men are members of the Mayors and Independents, a coalition party within the government. Once the party agrees on the changes, Prime Minister Petr Fiala is expected to confirm the cabinet shakeup.
