Markéta Vondroušová claims Berlin WTA title in pre-Wimbledon boost
Czech tennis star Markéta Vondroušová secured her third WTA title after winning the Berlin tournament on grass on Sunday. The 25-year-old from Sokolov defeated China’s Wang Xinyu in a hard-fought final lasting two hours and 16 minutes, winning 7–6, 4–6, 6–2. The victory comes just eight days ahead of Wimbledon, the Grand Slam she famously won two years ago, and signals that the defending champion is in top form.
