Marked fall in new apartment construction recorded in 2020

The number of new apartment constructions launched in the Czech Republic fell by one-quarter last year, according to official data released on Monday. While the figure fell nationally by 24.5 percent in Prague the downswing was a full 40 percent.

One analyst told the Czech News Agency that this further decreased the likelihood that property prices would fall in connection with the Covid situation.

Prague saw the most new apartment projects in 2020, with over one-third of the total.
