Majority of Afghans evacuated from Kabul wish to remain in Czech Republic

152 of the 169 Afghans who were evacuated from Kabul to the Czech Republic have applied for asylum or subsidiary protection, Interior Minister Jan Hamáček announced on Monday. The others already have permanent or temporary residence in the country. Mr. Hamáček said the vast majority of evacuated Afghan nationals had expressed the desire to remain in this country since they had cooperated with or have ties to the Czech Republic. They are currently at the end of their two-week quarantine period.
