Lowest Covid increase in eight months
The Czech Republic registered 257 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, the lowest daily increase in more than eight months. In the course of the last seven days the country registered 71 new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants. The reproduction number is currently at 0.8. Under 1,500 people are hospitalized with the infection, less than 300 of them are in a serious condition. The epidemic has been slowing since mi-March, when there were around 17,000 new cases daily. Over 1,6 million people in the Czech Republic have contracted the virus since the pandemic hit, and close to 30 thousand have died.
