Lower house speaker orders audit of Czech MPs’ past foreign trips

Lower House Speaker Tomio Okamura (SPD) has ordered an audit of lawmakers’ foreign trips from the previous electoral term, based on a legal opinion. Okamura announced the decision on X, saying that in view of the intense travel under the former administration, results of the audit will not be available for several weeks. Until then, he said, he intends to personally oversee all parliamentary travel. Okamura stated earlier that some past foreign trips were unnecessary and overpriced.
