Lower house chief holds talks in Slovakia

The newly-elected Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Tomio Okamura (SPD), who is leading a delegation of MPs to Slovakia on Tuesday met for talks with his Slovak counterpart Richard Raši (Hlas). They discussed cooperation at the European level. Both sides are highly critical of the ETS 2 permit system, the EU Migration Pact, and the ban on cars with combustion engines after 2035.

Okamura included only MPs from the emerging Czech governing coalition in his delegation, which drew criticism from representatives of the as yet ruling parties who announced they would visit Slovakia independently next week.
