London court rejects Czech appeal in Diag Human dispute
The London Court of Appeal has rejected the Czech Republic’s bid to challenge a compensation claim by businessman Josef Šťáva in the decades-old Diag Human case, the Czech News Agency reported.
The Finance Ministry called the move expected and vowed to continue the fight. Diag Human, however, sees the ruling as final and says Šťáva’s claim, estimated at 17 billion crowns over a blocked blood plasma deal, is now enforceable.
The London court took up the case after Prague appealed a 2022 arbitration ruling. Šťáva’s claim was upheld in July; the Czech Republic filed its latest challenge in September.
