Lipavský takes part in Blinken-EU talks on Russia threat to Ukraine

The Czech foreign minister, Jan Lipavský, on Monday joined European Union counterparts in a discussion with the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, focused on Russia’s threat to Ukraine. Speaking after the call, Mr. Lipavský told reporters that the most effect cooperation was in the area of sanctions, which were currently being prepared behind closed doors on both sides of the Atlantic for the possibility of Russia attacking a neighbouring state.

The Czech foreign policy chief said that EU states were not united on the specific form of sanctions, but said there were only minor nuances between their outlooks.
