Lipavský says Czechs plan donor conference for Ukraine during EU presidency
The Czech Republic plans to organise a donor conference for Ukraine during its presidency of the European Union in the second half of this year, the country’s minister of foreign affairs, Jan Lipavský said on Tuesday.
He made the comment after a meeting with counterparts from Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and Slovenia at the Štiřín stately home near Prague. Along with the Czech Republic the informal alliance is known as the Central 5.
Mr. Lipavský also said that the Czech Republic would push for progress on the issue of ending oil imports from Russia and to minimise relations with Moscow during it presidency of the Council of the European Union, which gets underway in July.
