Lipavský calls for tribunal to investigate Russian actions in Ukraine’s Izyum

The Czech minister of foreign affairs, Jan Lipavský, has called for the swift establishment of a special international tribunal that would investigate Russia’s actions in the Izyum area in Ukraine, which was recently liberated by Ukrainian forces.

Mr. Lipavský said on Saturday that Russia had left behind mass graves of hundreds of shot and tortured Ukrainians and that such attacks against the civilian population were unthinkable and abhorrent in the 21st century. He said Czechia stood for the punishment of all war criminals.

Ukrainian officials said that over 400 bodies were believed to be at a site in Izyum that Russia occupied.
