Leading translator of English-language literature Miroslav Jindra dies at 91
Miroslav Jindra, who translated many major authors from English to Czech, has died at the age of 91. Among the more than 50 novels he translated were works by Michael Cunningham, Margaret Atwood, Truman Capote and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Mr. Jindra, who began his career as a translator in 1954, also taught at a number of Czech universities.
