Leading cultural personalities awarded on occasion of Czechoslovak Independence Day

Czech Culture Minister Lubomír Zaorálek on Sunday handed out awards to leading personalities in the field of theater, music, fine arts, architecture and cinematography on the occasion of Czechoslovak Independence Day on October 28th. Among this year’s laureates honoured at a gala ceremony on the New Stage of the National Theatre are writer Miroslav Topinka, translator Alena Morávková, artist Adéla Matasová or screenwriter, actor and writer Zdeněk Svěrák. Filmmaker Ester Krumbachová received an in memoriam award for her contribution to cinematography and audiovisual arts.
