Lawsuit over blocked EU subsidy to Agrofert company suspended
The European Court of Justice has suspended the hearing of the Czech Republic's lawsuit against the European Commission filed over a blocked subsidy to a company in the Agrofert conglomerate.
The court wants to wait for the final decision of the Commission on the subsidy, which it has refused to pay out due to a possible conflict of interest on the part of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.
Earlier audits by the Commission conclude that the Czech prime minister continues to control the companies in the Agrofert conglomerate despite having placed it into trust funds to comply with the Czech conflict of interest law.
The lawsuit concerns a subsidy of 30,000 euros.
