Labour minister warns employers against using Ukrainian refugees as cheap labour
Labour and Social Affairs Minister Marian Jurečka has warned against employing Ukrainian refugees illegally as a source of cheap labour. Over 200,000 Ukrainian refugees have fled to the Czech Republic since the start of the war in their home country and in addition to a year-long humanitarian visa as of March 31 they will have the right to work in the Czech Republic without a labour permit. The labour minister warned Czech employers against abusing the plight of refugees saying that attempts to do so would be heavily sanctioned. He said a number of dubious offers had already been registered and reported.
