Kvitová wins Eastbourne for first title in over year

The Czech Republic’s Petra Kvitová has won the tennis tournament in the UK’s Eastbourne for her first title in 15 months. The 32-year-old beat Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko 6-3 6-2 in Saturday’s final of a competition that directly proceeds the Wimbledon tournament.

It was the 29th career trophy for Kvitova, who won Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014, her only Grand Slam titles.
