Krejčí tops individual kayak cross race at World Cup in Pau

Czechia's Jakub Krejčí won the individual kayak cross race at the Canoe Slalom World Cup in Pau, France. His compatriot, Matyáš Novák, finished third. Among the women, the top Czech was Tereza Kneblová, who placed ninth.

Starting this season, the individual kayak cross race counts as a separate World Cup event and also serves as a qualifier for the Olympic knockout competition.

European champion Krejčí won by just a tenth of a second ahead of Britain’s Sam Leaver, with Novák 0.39 seconds behind.
