Kocáb to decide late in day whether to run for president

Musician and former human rights minister Michael Kocáb says he will wait until the last moment to decide whether to run for the post of Czech president. Mr. Kocáb made the comment in Uherské Hradiště where he attended the world premiere of a new documentary about him by Olga Sommerová at the town’s Summer Film School.

The first round of elections to succeed Miloš Zeman as head of state will take place on January 13 and 14 next year. A number of people have already stated that they will stand, while other expected candidates, such as ex-prime minister Andrej Babiš, are yet to declare.
