Klára Dostálová from ANO elected vice-president of Patriots for Europe
Czech opposition leader Andrej Babiš has welcomed the creation of the Patriots for Europe faction in the European Parliament, saying it is a chance for his ANO party to work with others on a better European Union, to push for greater sovereignty for EU member states, stronger measures against illegal migration and a revision of the Green Deal. The new faction will have a total of 84 MEPs from twelve countries, making it the third biggest faction in the assembly.
The faction will be lead by Jordan Bardella, head of the French far-right National Rally of Marine Le Pen. Klára Dostálová, a Czech MEP for ANO, was elected one of the faction’s vice-presidents. Another Czech party – that of the Oath and Motorists also joined the new grouping.
