Kingdom Come: Deliverance II reveals exciting expansion
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II's second expansion, Legacy of Forge, launches September 9. Players reprise the role of Henry of Skalitz, restoring a forge, reconnecting with his late father’s friends, and taking on commissions in Kutná Hora. Warhorse Studios revealed the DLC in a trailer at Gamescom.
Warhorse studio has already released an expansion pack about a mysterious painter, and it plans to add a third expansion pack to the successful Czech video game this winter.
In the latest expansion, Henry will try to breathe new life into a smithy that was previously burned down. In addition to various orders, the trailer reveals that players will also be able to craft new weapons and complete tasks for the citizens of Kutná Hora.
He will gradually acquire new designs, improve the equipment in the smithy, and increase the prestige of the blacksmiths' guild. The task will also be to find new allies among the friends of Henry's father, who was a blacksmith himself, and then try to revive the family craft.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set in the early 15th century during the political struggle between Wenceslas IV and his brother Sigismund. In the second installment, players explore the Bohemian Paradise region and Kutná Hora and its surroundings. Like the rest of the game, the second expansion set in the blacksmith's environment will be localized and dubbed into Czech.
Ten million copies
The sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released by Warhorse Studios at the beginning of February this year. According to the latest data, the studio sold approximately three million copies in the three months following its release. The first installment sold ten million copies in roughly seven years.
Developers have previously stated that game rules sell best immediately after release, with interest declining over time. But new expansions can subsequently increase player interest again. Warhorse Studios, therefore, expects the number of copies sold of the second installment to exceed that of the first, Kingdom Come.
Further expansion
In the first expansion, titled Brushes with Death, Henry helps a mysterious painter create a new painting. The expansion becomes available in the game after players reach Trosky Castle in the storyline. In addition to the new storyline, players can paint their shields and design their own coats of arms.
In the winter, the studio plans to bring the Mysteria Ecclesiae expansion to the game. In it, players should get to the Sedlec Monastery and solve mysterious events among the local Cistercians.
