Kejval to remain chairman of Czech Olympic Committee

Jiří Kejval will continue as head of the Czech Olympic Committee, which he has led since 2012. At the plenary session of the Czech Olympic Committee, Kejval received 82 out of 126 votes, or 65%. His opponent, long-time head of the Czech Athletics Association Libor Varhaník, received 44 votes.

The 57-year-old Kejval, who replaced Milan Jirásek in the position thirteen years ago, ran for the fourth time and had a challenger for the first time. He won the mandate for another four years, up to 2029. In his election speech, he said that this was probably his last run.
