Kateřina Siniaková beats former world no.1 Kim Clijsters in Indian Wells

Czech tennis player Kateřina Siniaková beat former world no.1 Kim Clijsters of Belgium in the first round of the Indian Wells tournament, in a three-set match (6:1, 2:6, 6:2).

Siniaková, an Olympic doubles champion, next faces Angelique Kerber of Germany. Less successful in their opening match at the tournament were Markéta Vondroušová and Marie Bouzková, both of whom were eliminated.
