Justice Ministry wants to better protect minors in civil cases involving domestic violence

The Ministry of Justice will launch a pilot project aimed at improving the protection for children who are victims of domestic violence. The aim is to introduce a new way of hearing civil cases involving children who are victims of domestic violence in district and regional courts," the ministry, said in a press release. The project, to be launched in February, envisages close cooperation between the courts, social and legal protection authorities, prosecutors, police, probation service staff, intervention centres and other experts. NGOs working with children who are victims of domestic violence say they often suffer secondary trauma during questioning.
