This week, Czech virtuoso Josef Špaček, one the most talented violinists of his generation, performed to a sold-out Municipal House at the Prague Spring International Music festival. On the evening, which featured music from the Baroque period to the present, he received a lasting standing ovation and went on to perform five or six encores, including a rendition of Yankee Doodle Dandy. Prokofiev was also performed on the evening and also features on Špaček’s debut which was released just this month. In today’s Sunday Music we will hear music from that debut.
