Jobless rate falls slightly in October

Unemployment in the Czech Republic fell slightly to 3.7 percent in October, according to data published by the national labour authority. The jobless rate had stood at 3.8 percent for the previous three months.

Analysts say the country is yet to see a rise in unemployment in view of the coronavirus situation. However, high growth is not expected. The minister of labour and social affairs, Jana Maláčová, has attributed the positive numbers to a scheme under which the state is covering the wages of staff whose work hours have been curtailed.
