Jiří Prskavec wins gold in kayak slalom in Tokyo
Czech canoeist Jiří Prskavec has come first in the kayak slalom at the Olympics in Tokyo. The 28-year-old finished over three seconds ahead of his nearest opponent on Thursday, confirming his position as favourite in the competition. His is the Czech Republic's second gold at the Games after shooter Jiří Lipták topped the podium in trap on Wednesday.
To date the Czech Republic has an overall medals tally of five. The country is guaranteed two more as its players have reached the finals of tennis singles and doubles competitions.
