Jiří Lehečka breaks into top 20 after US Open quarterfinal, becomes Czech number one
Jiří Lehečka has climbed to a career-high world No. 16 after reaching the quarterfinals of the US Open for the first time. The 23-year-old replaces Jakub Menšík as the top-ranked Czech player, surpassing his previous best ranking of No. 21. Menšík slipped to 17th, while Tomáš Macháč now sits at No. 22.
Among Czech women, Karolína Muchová remains the highest ranked. A quarterfinal finish in New York dropped her two places to No. 15, just short of matching her semifinal runs from the past two years.
