Ji.hlava IDFF names ‘Brotherhood’ best Czech documentary

Francesco Montagner’s film Brotherhood, a Czech-Italian co-production, has been named best Czech documentary at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, and Barbora Sliepková’s Slovak film Lines best foreign documentary.

As an award, the winners received an image created by robots depicting the emotional look of former US President Donald Trump's Twitter feed. It was created by Czech-Argentine artist Federico Díaz, using an artificial neural network.

The Ji.hlava IDFF is the largest documentary film festival in Central and Eastern Europe. The 25th edition featured more than 300 documentaries from 68 countries.
